Malaysia does not have a formal medical cannabis programme, but the Ministry of Health allows for the registration of cannabis-based products for medical use if they meet strict scientific and regulatory standards. Currently, no such products are registered or available for patient use in the country.

  • Cannabis remains classified as a dangerous drug under the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
  • There are no currently registered cannabis-based medicines available for purchase.
  • Registration of new medical cannabis products requires approval from the Drug Control Authority.
