Privacy Policy
This page describes what the site actually collects, where each item is kept, and what stays on your own device. It is written in plain language on purpose.
Accounts and sign-in
You do not need an account to browse the public pages, use the 90-day tracker, or read the community feed. If you create an account, your email address and sign-in details are handled by the app platform's sign-in service and stored on its servers. Your name and any profile photo or interests you add are saved with your account. If you sign in with Google or Facebook, that provider shares basic profile details (such as your name and email) with the site; we do not receive your password for those providers.
90-day allotment tracker
Tracker profiles use anonymous aliases. The profiles, gram amounts and purchase dates are saved only in your browser on your own device. They are not sent to a server and are not backed up. Clearing your browser data erases them.
Journal and reminders
Journal entries and notification preferences are saved only in your browser on your device and do not leave it. Opening the Journal and Notifications pages requires an account.
Ivy, the AI assistant
When you send Ivy a message, the text of your conversation is sent to an AI service through the app platform to produce an answer. The site does not save your Ivy conversations in its database; they disappear when you close or reload the page. Do not share personal health information with Ivy. Ivy's spoken replies are off by default; if you turn them on, the reply text is sent to a text-to-speech service. The microphone button uses your browser's speech recognition, which may send audio to your browser's provider.
Community posts and comments
Posts, comments, likes, photos, videos, tagged names, locations and events you submit are stored in the site's database and can be seen by other visitors. Your display name and profile photo appear with them. Some posts are news items collected from public sources.
Location and ZIP code
On a first visit the site looks up your approximate location from your network address using outside lookup services (ipwho.is, and get.geojs.io as a backup) to choose a default state or country. The result is not saved to the site's database. Your selected state or country is remembered in your browser. If you enter a ZIP code in the dispensary locator, it is sent to a server function to find its coordinates. That lookup answers the request and does not save the ZIP code to the site's database.
Saved in your browser
The site stores small items in your browser: your age confirmation (for the current session), your selected state and country, your day or night setting, posts you have liked, your translation choice, and the tracker and journal data described above.
Outside services the pages load
Map tiles come from OpenStreetMap, map outlines from GitHub-hosted files, and images from the app platform's image hosting. If you use the language button, page text is translated by Google Translate. These services can see your network address when your browser contacts them.
Analytics
The hosting platform that serves this site records basic traffic and usage statistics, such as page views and errors, so that broken pages get fixed. Some pages carry a sponsored placement for a third-party service, marked as sponsored where it appears; those placements are static and do not read your tracker or journal data.
Age
This site is for adults 18 and over.
