About Medical Cannabis Coalition
Medical Cannabis Coalition is a patient companion for medical cannabis law. It exists because the rules that decide whether a patient can legally get treatment — what qualifies, how much may be bought in a 90-day window, where it may be bought, what happens at a state line — are written state by state and country by country, in language written for regulators rather than patients. This site gathers those rules in one place and links every summary back to the official source.
What this site offers
A guide to all 50 states plus more than 100 countries, each with its program status, allotment, qualifying conditions, possession, transport and renewal rules, and links to the state's own program and statutes. A dispensary locator that distinguishes licensed shops from consumption lounges, cannabis clubs and cannabis-friendly venues. An education center covering cannabinoids, terpenes and dosing. A 90-day allotment tracker and symptom journal that keep everything in your own browser. A printable patient rights card. A community board for every state and country. And Ivy, an AI assistant that answers questions about the state you are in.
How the information is sourced
Every law summary is written from the state's or country's official program pages and statutes, and each page links to them. State guides are re-checked against those official sources every month by a scheduled check, so a change to an allotment, a qualifying condition or a possession limit is picked up rather than left to sit. Where a state's program is not yet operating, the page says so instead of describing it as if it were.
Dispensary records are built from official licensing registers and each business's own website, and are re-verified against the state's licensing authority. A place whose licence cannot be confirmed is shown as unconfirmed rather than quietly presented as licensed. Addresses, phone numbers and opening hours are never guessed: a field that could not be confirmed is left blank.
Ivy's answers are generated from the same pages linked here and are attributed to their official sources. AI can be wrong, and it is not a substitute for the state's own program page or your practitioner — each state page links to both.
Editorial standard
Corrections are welcome and are treated as urgent when they concern a law, a limit or a licence, because a patient acting on a wrong figure can face real consequences. Every page links to the sources it rests on, so you can always read the rule where it is written. When the law changes, the page is rewritten rather than patched, and a figure that cannot be confirmed is removed instead of left standing.
Who it is for
Patients, caregivers, certifying practitioners and advocates. Nothing on this site is legal advice or medical advice: it is a map of where the law stands, and the law always belongs to the state, not to us. See the disclaimer for the full statement, and the privacy policy for how your data is handled.
Report something
If a law, a limit or a listing here is wrong or out of date, say so on the contact page. Include the state or country and the official source where you can — that is what makes a correction fast to verify.
