Official Program

North Carolina does not have a comprehensive medical cannabis program. Cannabis remains illegal for most uses except low-THC CBD products for intractable epilepsy. In 2025, Governor Stein created the North Carolina Advisory Council on Cannabis to study policy options. Lawmakers continue to discuss medical cannabis legislation. The Medical Cannabis Coalition is working to bring safe access to North Carolina patients.
